I’ve been a loyal and repeat customer for Sam Leman Chevy in Bloomington Illinois off of Morrissey for about 6 years now. I have bought 2 or 3 vehicles from this location and also get my oil changes and any other services needed here. I’ve never had a problem until yesterday, January 9, 2025. I called to verify my appointment was made for a synthetic oil change with tire rotation for my 2022 Chevy trailblazer, originally scheduled for Saturday, January 11th at 10 AM. When I called to make the appointment on January 8, 2024 at 11:57 AM for a 2 minute phone call, everything seemed fine until I provided my phone number. As I was making my appointment and provided my phone number the representative on the other end failed to verify my personal contact information and also had the wrong vehicle information. When I did not receive a confirmation of the appointment that was made, I knew something was incorrect. I had went online and scheduled another appointment according to their next availability due to my first appointment never be made. I should’ve known who it was when the call was answered. I would like to make a complaint against Carrie (GEE) Veselak. As she failed to make a simple appointment because of a personal matter and she is also my husband‘s ex-wife. This should have never affected my loyalty service that had been requested. Now by time I get my scheduled service, I will be over my mileage and I am very adamant about maintenance on my vehicle due to it mostly still being under warranty. Unfortunately, this simple act of unkindness and unprofessionalism will probably reflect business in the future.
Rob Jewel was extremely helpful when we were picking out and buying our new truck. I highly recommend talking to him when you are ready to buy your next vehicle.

Purchased an SUV in February of this year.Was deceptively sold the vehicle, as my salesman Shale admitted he was ignorant with regard to the condition of the vehicle and its status as a buyback vehicle. The vehicle completely broke down by March after my family spent $90K at this establishment. Troy and Rich in service were very rude and aggressive in their treatment of me, as documented on TikTok, calling me a liar about the car having issues and refusing service to us with no legitimate basis. They are now only offering to fix a car that has been deemed unfixable or trading the vehicle in at market value while acknowledging they sold us a lemon...a family with 4 young children. This facility is engaging in predatory lending practices and has been very unwilling to fix what they know was deceptive in the first place. Please do not waste your hard-earned time or money here.
I recently bought my 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab Custom Trail Boss here and was very pleased by my salesman Rob Jewel who was fantastic and extremely helpful in the buying process.
I really like this dealership, I bought my first car from them back in 2019 and my husband's truck back in 2021. I just recently had to get a new car. I picked a 2022 Blazer, and the buying process was pretty easy. But as soon as I drove my car off the lot, a check engine light came on. They had just filled my car up with gas and I thought the gas cap just wasn't put back on all the way. turns out the gas neck was broken which whom ever filled up the car could not have missed, additionally the lift gate wasn't working correctly and now I have to return to have body work done. Body work that I did not see because it was on top of the lift gate in my car and I was too short to see, but the damages were in the pictures the dealership posted and missed. So out of the 30 days I've had my car I've had to return to Chevy city 4 times to have the Carbon dioxide sensor, fuel neck, and lift gate fixed. and now have to carve out more time next week to visit the body shop. Thankfully, AL is then service department is an angel and it's great about taking care of everything. You'd just think with a 40K car the inspection would have been more thorough. I love my car, but I'm very disappointed in my experience with the inspection, and the fact I have had to return so many times with issues.

Bought a used car here on Labor Day. Took the car on a predetermined test drive route directed by our salesman. . Everything seemed to be in good working condition so we bought the car along with a warranty that the finance manager said was REQUIRED before the bank would approve the loan. It’s was fairly cool temps so we didn’t run the AC on the way home only during the 10 min test drive. The next day was very warm so we used the AC and approximately 20 mins into the drive, the AC quit working. I called the dealership and scheduled a service appointment. They said the AC compressor was bad and replaced it. The next day the AC starting doing the exact same thing it was doing prior to changing the compressor. They diagnosed it AGAIN and said the expansion valve was actually the problem and they would need over $2000 to repair and warranty would not cover. The part is fairly cheap but they don’t want to eat the labor costs. I’ve reached out my phone and email and no one will return my calls. This is the service you receive when you buy a car from these people. Honesty and integrity are not found at this dealership , I’d continue looking somewhere else before buying ANYTHING at Lemans Chevy.
We had a seamless experience - the pricing was fair, they had vehicles we were interested in, and everyone was pleasant and kind, even when we had our small kids with us. We especially appreciated our salesman, Rob Jewel. He was responsive, helpful, and didn't pressure us. He has small kids just like us, so really understood our perspective and was patient with them. He also spoke to me directly and helped me make my own decisions, even though my husband was along for the ride. We looked at a car that didn't work for us three months prior to our purchase, and he made low-pressure suggestions about what might work better. We were thrilled when Leman's had the exact make and model we finally decided on, and were so happy to purchase it with Rob's help. If you're looking for a family vehicle (or if you're a woman purchasing a car), ask for Rob!

This time we were looking for a truck and he was able to have trucks from other Leman lots to test drive before we even arrived. We gave us honest feedback and answered all of our questions. We had 2 of our younger children with us and he made us all feel at home, even with the kids being a bit difficult at times. I really appreciate Tom and that is why we continue to go back to him over and over. Adam was the Finance rep and he was great too. He has helped us with other purchases as well. After discussing my plans to sell my vehicle to Carvana for nearly a month with the sales team in order to purchase a new vehicle from them, I was informed the day that the vehicle I wanted to purchase arrived that I would either have to trade in my vehicle to them for $3k less than Carvana offered or they would have to mark up the vehicle in order to sell it to me. The staff was friendly, but no one could offer a solution. Very disappointing first experience with attempting to buy a new car and reinforced a lot of the stereotypes people have about purchasing from dealerships for me. My previous experience buying from Carmax was so much easier and pleasant!

Was in the market for a Challenger and Jim Fike couldn’t have been more helpful or patient helping me find the perfect one. The one I had my eye on was in the process of getting purchased by another couple, but even as I was headed home he had found other options of sisters stores and was texting me times to get them to the Bloomington store and go test drive them. The other couple ended up backing out and he called me right away to come check it out, and I ended up taking it home the same day. The whole team was friendly, professional, and explained the process to me - which my first experience buying off a lot very quick and easy. 10/10 would recommend, both my boyfriend and I have bought from Jim at Leman’s Chevy City and I can’t imagine going anywhere else for our next cars.

When I brought my Chevy Volt into the dealership for a software update, the vehicle was still under warranty. The update was completed and then the heating and cooling stopped working almost immediately. Once I brought the vehicle back in, I was just barely over warranty and they said it was going to cost $2,500+ to repair. In addition, no cost for diagnostic was discussed on the phone or verbally with my husband who dropped the vehicle off. Upon picking up the keys and car, we were told that we would owe $100 for the diagnostic visit...which probably could have been figured out via Youtube. When I questioned the attendant on Saturday, she was great. She gave us information and people to call and stated that she would xxu with management so we would receive a call regarding this. Five days (3 business days) later and still not communication. I would most definitely NOT recommend Chevrolet service. Upon leaving on Saturday, I drove the car to O'brien and traded it in for another vehicle. Save your time, money, and sanity and drive past Chevy City. The kicker... This is the response I received from the "manager" who did not manage any part of this situation... "Dana, I'm sorry you were not completely satisfied with your recent service visit. The Volt is a hybrid electrical vehicle that takes a Certified Volt Technician to both diagnose and repair the vehicle for electrical and mechanical concerns. Most of our Volt customers have done extensive research into the new technology in their vehicles and are aware of the complexity of the repairs needed. Unfortunately, your factory warranties have expired, and you were quoted up front for possible diagnostic charges involved for the technician to diag your vehicle's mechanical concerns. I'm sorry you felt you needed to trade your vehicle in, but I hope you are completely satisfied with your purchase." Unbelievable...Call me stupid again for not "researching the new technology in my 4 year old vehicle".

I went into car shopping ready for the sales teams to be on high alert to swarm me the minute I got into each car lot. I hadn't shopped for a vehicle in several years and wanted to take my time so I was a bit nervous going into it. I was pleasantly surprised to have the exact opposite experience at Leman Chevrolet! I actually drove through the lot a couple of times and didn't have a sales person approach me until I got out of my car and initiated the conversation.
