Chevrolet Makes an Impression at the Chicago Auto Show
The Chicago Auto Show, the largest and longest-running auto show, has officially begun, and people can’t stop talking about the highlights. While we were big fans of the life-size Lego Chevy Silverado (pictured), General Motors also had some exciting announcements for the real Silverado, with the upcoming Silverado 2500 / 3500 named Best in Show by Cars.com. What makes a truck “Best in Show?” We’re glad you asked.
The Upcoming 2020 Silverado 2500/3500 Details
Both the 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500 and 3500 have a slew of updates coming to Normal and Decatur, including:
- More powerful standard gas engine
- New camera technology that makes trailering easier
- More capability, with a maximum gooseneck towing capacity of up to 35,500 pounds
Springfield drivers can expect the 2020 models to feature a standard 6.6L V8 engine capable of 401 hp, as well as an available 6.6L turbo-diesel V8 engine delivering 445 hp and 910 lb-ft of torque. The turbo-diesel engine is paired up with the new Allison 10-speed automatic transmission to deliver those jaw-dropping towing specs.
